“Renata and fellow artist sketching amidst the tundra along the Dempster Highway in the Yukon”
– Photo taken by Al Pace
“I was fortunate enough to travel the Dempster Highway from Inuvik, Northwest Territories to Dawson City, Yukon with a group of artists and photographers. Travelling 740 km, through vast expanses of rolling wilderness, tundra, mountains and crossing the Arctic Circle was an incredible experience. Sightings of black bears, grizzlies, and Dahl sheep added to the great adventure. Of course travelling with a group of artists meant stopping our vehicle frequently and simultaneously gaping in awe at the natural world around us as well as sketching, painting and taking photographs in hopes of capturing the essence of this beautiful land.”
